Filled with Treasures

From Proverbs, Chapter 8:17-21
17) I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
18) Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.
19) My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
20) I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:
21) That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance (wealth); and I will fill their treasures. (KJV)
I’m sure we would all love to have wealth if we are honest with ourselves. There is nothing wrong with wealth in and of itself. It is how we use it or should I say how we abuse our wealth that is the problem for us. And I suspect most of us, if we had real substance (wealth), we would abuse it. All you have to do is examine the lives of all the major lottery winners around the country, most of which are worse off now than when they won the lottery with broken families and lives. Most would forget God and be consumed with self and the satisfaction of self, which is probably why we don’t have it. You see it takes great wisdom to have wealth as spoken of here in Proverbs (Chapter 8:21).
If you read the all of Chapter 8 you will see that true wealth is wisdom. If you have the wisdom which is spoken of here in Chapter 8, then you have true wealth because no matter what you have (materially), if you have wisdom, you have wealth. But God does without a doubt says you can have wealth & I mean real material wealth, BUT in order to have wealth – you must have wisdom.
How many of us can say we have wisdom? If you don’t know the Son (Jesus) as Saviour then you have missed the wisdom of God. You see it is only by the wisdom of God that he provided a way for you and me to have true treasure – eternal life, and that life is in the Son. Do you know him? Not only is knowing Him the beginning of true treasures, but it is the only way (John 14:6).
